Your ONE-STOP SHOP to EVERYTHING UX Research
Are you interested in UX Research as a career but don't know how to get started?
Are you already a UX researcher but want to feel confident in what you're doing?
Do you want to learn the pro tips and best practices for amplifying yourself as a UX Research leader?
If so, you're not alone. You're in the right place!
YOU are the reason I created this ultimate class, the one I WISH I had when I got started.
WHY THIS COURSE
The truth is most current and aspiring UX researchers feel inadequately prepared for the job.
And the most common reasons WHY are:
- Most UX courses only give surface-level UXR training
- There aren’t a lot of curated resources out there for learning expert-level skills
- There are too many MISINFORMED B.S. resources
All of which make it very hard for people to learn the right things and even experienced UX researchers often confess to feeling like they’re just “winging it.”
That’s why I’ve spent the last 6 years (yes, 6. and thousands of hours) creating the world’s most in-depth UX research course
...to help all current and aspiring UXRs to master the craft of UX research.
This is a 360-degree approach to EVERYTHING you need to know about being a UX research leader.
I will cover not only how to conduct UX research, but everything from
- advanced knowledge in human factors psychology,
- what it means to be a leader; leadership and management,
- how to use AI to supplement your process, and
- winning UX business strategies
to the more nuanced things, like
- what to do when your team forgets about research or does not include you,
- how to deal with imposter syndrome or the opposite Dunning-Kruger effect,
- and even what if “you look too young to be taken seriously?”
This isn’t going to be an easy course.
This training will be rigorous.
I will NOT have my students come out with fluff and basic surface-level knowledge. There's a reason why this program is LONGER than any other program in existence. I promise you this, it will be rewarding (and fun)!
This is not a 4-hour B.S. workshop nor a 10-day UXR retreat that costs thousands of dollars. And it’s not a multi-thousand-dollar bootcamp that teaches you how to wireframe.
::
This master class will go far beyond the basics of simply teaching you the basics of writing a study plan, conducting research, and presenting results.
This class will prepare you practically so you can be confident, no matter where you land.
But don't let that scare you - I also designed the content to be as fun and engaging as possible.
In addition to the memes and jokes I use in my content, I even travelled to some awesome places just to get cool shots and explain my lessons, from the Planes of Fame Museum in Chino, California, to the beautiful Sierra mountains, the Google HQ campus, and many more!
But more importantly, I’ve used my background in academia (and my obsession with teaching) to make this the single most effective learning experience possible for you... Built on science-based learning methods.
One of the most common things my students say is that they appreciate my ability to break down complicated topics into simple and easy-to-follow lessons.
So if you’ve gotten value from my YouTube videos, that’s only a tiny FRACTION of the value you’ll get from this course :)
I travelled around to record fun video lessons
A fun lesson on experimental design, something other UXR courses don't teach
You can tell how long this took by the number of stickers I've added to my laptop over the years
When it comes to teaching UX Research, I’ve helped many people go from having ZERO experience in the field… to becoming expert-level UX researchers doing work they love.
(That’s where the name “Zero to UX” came from. But it’s not just for beginners — even experienced UX researchers have told me that my methods transformed their approach to work.)
This is why 80% of my past live Masterclass students have landed 6-figure jobs at top companies, and some of them have even become senior-level researchers now.
Yes, that's right, some of my alumni are literally senior UXRs right now.
That’s because I pour my blood, sweat, and tears into providing everything my students need to be successful.
Zero to UX alumni have landed UX Research offers at these companies 🎉
These are not logos of students already at these companies (which many other UX courses LOVE to claim).
All alumni have landed UXR roles specifically at these companies AFTER taking the masterclass. Many have landed their first, second, even third and subsequent roles after the class!
WHAT ALUMNI ARE SAYING
These are real testimonials from my LIVE masterclass alumni. They are all working as UX researchers. The main difference is that the content is all the same, but obviously it's a self-paced course so there is no 1:1s with me nor an actual client project (but I will show you how to look for one yourself).
But join the community and ask questions! I will be very active there :)
____
Remi: UX Researcher and Designer at Asurion
"Kevin exceeded my expectations with this course...Before class ended I was able to land my first UX job!"
Lena: Senior UX Researcher at Adobe, formerly Microsoft, Meta, HBOMAX
"I'm super proud to say that now I'm a UX Researcher at Microsoft [Adobe]...This is one of those courses that I consider to be a highlight of my career."
Qian: Senior UX Researcher at Chewy, formerly Delta Dental
"Before taking the class, I had zero projects and I didn’t even have a UX Research resume. But now I’ve already got some interviews with companies. . . This Masterclass has really helped me in my career transition, but also helped me to become a better leader and more confident.”
Lizzy: UX Researcher at Meta, Roblox, Stanley Black & Decker
"The class is so thorough and detailed and extremely relevant and immediately applicable to real-world situations...Class paid for itself after my first freelance job."
Jeff: PhD, Professor of Japanese Studies, Institutional Review Board (IRB)
"I wanted a comprehensive education so that I could speak the language of UX Research and be confident not only in my job search, but after landing the job. And I got that confidence."
THE WAIT IS OVER
Previously, the only way to get access to this curriculum was to join my LIVE Masterclass... Which cost $10,200 and required a 24-week time commitment. And the problem was that I could only take 10 people for every 24-week cohort.
Which meant that, out of the 28,000 people who subscribe to me on YouTube and 30,000 people who follow me on LinkedIn…
Only 20 people PER YEAR were able to join my live Masterclass.
And I couldn’t take more than 10 people per cohort because I wanted to ensure the quality of instruction by giving my students 110% of my focus.
But throughout this time, I had people asking me if I would ever release a “self-paced” course so that they could go through my curriculum and learn my methods.
So to make this information accessible to more people and inspire the next generation of badass UX leaders...
I’m excited to announce the long-awaited…
Zero to UX Research Self-Paced Masterclass.

HOW I CREATED THIS MEGA CLASS
I taught my live Masterclass for YEARS before launching this course, which allowed me to test my teaching in the real world.
And after seeing dozens of my past students land jobs at top companies and become respected UX leaders in their team...
I decided I was finally ready to create a self-paced course to make this knowledge accessible to more people.
But because of my ridiculously high standards for quality…
(And maybe just a SLIGHT bit of perfectionism)...
It ended up taking waaay longer than expected 😅
Because I originally announced the launch of this self-paced course all the way back in 2021.
BUT...
I didn’t want to create “just another” UX Research course.
I wanted to create a course that would change the industry.
A course that would become the “gold standard” for anyone looking to master UX Research (regardless of their current experience).
And to do that…
I realized it would require far more time and effort than any project I’ve ever undertaken before.
So I spent the last 4 YEARS in “monk mode.”
I locked myself in my home office and barely left the house.
I nearly forgot to eat, bathe, and groom.
I cut my own hair.
And I didn’t see the sun for ages.
(Haha, okay, I’m being a bit dramatic… but you get the point 😜)...
Because I was laser-focused on creating THIS course that you’re reading about.
This course is the distillation of over 14 years of my research experience.
(Including my failures and mistakes… so you don’t have to learn it the hard way like I had to).
THOUSANDS of hours in the making
Literally you can see the screenshot I took to the right...I created a folder for myself in 2016 titled "Lesson 1: Introduction to UXR".
At first it was just meant for myself as a means to review things I've learned over the years, areas where I struggled with, failures, and successes, but over time, with so many mentees asking me for help, I realized that it was a curriculum in the making.
Which is why I’m excited to share it with you, and extend an invitation.
TL;DR: By the end of this course, you will be well-versed in EVERYTHING you will face as a UX Researcher… and you will have all the tools, tactics, and strategies you need to crush it.
I didn’t hold ANYTHING back :)
Are you ready to become a Badass UX Leader?

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
WHEN DOES THE COURSE START AND FINISH?
The course starts today! It is a completely self-paced online course - you decide when you start and when you finish.
I've packed this course with over 100 hours of content, including more than 500 videos. It's designed to be completed in about 16-20 weeks, but since it's self-paced, you can take as long as you need. You'll have lifetime access to all the materials, so no pressure!
HOW LONG DO I HAVE ACCESS TO THE COURSE?
How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own.
Modules are dripped, meaning you must finish one module before moving to the next.
"Zero to UX" SOUNDS LIKE A BEGINNER CLASS.
Believe it or not:
- I worked with a STAFF UX Researcher who's never heard of the Central Limit Theorem for small sample sizes
- A SENIOR UX Researcher who had never heard of between- or within-subjects experimental design
- A UXR INSTRUCTOR who ran into trouble because of their lack of previous HIPAA or CITI training (research ethics training),
- a SENIOR Design Researcher at Microsoft who just takes orders from their Product Managers without asking any questions
- and many more troubling stories...
^ Like WHAT THE ACTUAL EFF? These are concerning to say the least. There are a LOT of BAD practices out there that need to be UNLEARNED. If we collectively do sh*t research, then there's no wonder our field struggles to provide value.
The problem is many mentors will "brand" something as advanced when really it should be fundamental knowledge.
What you will learn will help you MASTER both fundamentals and advanced topics of what it means to be a Badass UX Research Leader. There's something for everyone and gaps to be filled.
WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
Most of my past students have been aspiring UX researchers looking to break into the field or current UX researchers aiming to advance their skills and knowledge.
But it’s also applicable for people who need to do product research as part of their job, but aren't sure how (such as Product Managers, entrepreneurs, UX Designers, and UX Writers).
It’s also relevant for UXR Managers who want to help their team develop their skillsets.
In short, basically anyone who wants to make CONFIDENT product decisions by understanding real customer needs and pain points.
WHO IS THIS COURSE NOT FOR?
- You think you know everything already
- You just want a UX tech job for the money (literally heard someone tell me this)
- You want to learn design or coding
- You are debating between this course and grad school (but for what it's worth, grad school won't teach you UX Research)
- You hope to have everything handed to you on a silver platter; we’re going to put in a lot of work!
- You tend to start things and don’t finish
- You need a job to pay the bills today
- If you're a people manager. Although I have some modules on leadership and management, this class is not focused on management or leading a team of UXRs.
On the other hand, if you're looking for a specific module only, please be patient! I'll section out the full course into more "a-la carte" options later on.
However, I've had grad students with a psych background say that they learned some interesting things from my psych module for example, so I believe there's something for everyone, too. So even if you have some industry experience, there may be some practices you might find valuable.
CAN'T I FIND THIS STUFF FOR FREE?
No, and I'm not just saying that. I share the ins and outs of how companies like Google, Uber, and Volkswagen conduct UX user research (I’ve worked at them before)! Get a deeper look at what makes the researchers at these Fortune 500 companies the best in the business and learn the basics AND advanced knowledge.
In fact, there’s a LOT of fads and trendy articles that POLLUTE the ACTUAL knowledge you need to know to be a UX researcher. And there are many topics that I have never seen others cover before - and I give you my 100% authentic self and thoughts.
In this masterclass I will cut out the B.S and teach you HOW to think, give practical examples and quizzes to make sure you can understand the fundamentals, and show you step-by-step how to do rigorous user research.
ARE THERE ANY PREREQUISITES FOR THE COURSE?
No. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, this course is designed to take your skills to an advanced level. What's most important is your commitment to learning and applying these concepts.
IS A BACHELOR'S DEGREE REQUIRED?
Not for this self-paced course. But understand that in order to land a UX research JOB, yes, you WILL need at least a bachelor's degree to land any UX research job (except one member of my previous Masterclass students, who landed a UX job without a BS degree after taking my class!).
OK, I HAVE A PHD. WHY SHOULD I LEARN FROM YOU?
See above for Jeff's testimonial video. He is a Professor and on the IRB. When I first met Jeff, I was intimidated to even have Professors in my course because I had imposter syndrome! But he was very humble and said "I might have a PhD in my field, but you are the expert in UXR. I'd love to learn from you."
I have trained several other PhDs in my live cohorts as well and given a number of talks and keynotes to many PhD transitioners.
Plus not all PhD programs are research programs. UXR is not all about research. It's about HOW you do research so that it achieves business impact. How to make tradeoffs, how to juggle 3 projects in 3 weeks, how to word things, how to present things (I'm sorry y'all, dissertations are not user-friendly reads!), how to communicate with stakeholders, and how to establish yourself as a collaborative leader.
WHAT IF I AM UNHAPPY WITH THE COURSE? DO YOU OFFER REFUNDS?
I'd never want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, contact me ([email protected]) in the first 14 days and I will give you a full refund. All I ask is that you provide evidence that you've completed the quizzes and making the effort doing the assignments.
Requesting access to additional materials outside the designated course schedule will render any refunds ineligible.
All refunds are subject to the terms of the full refund policy linked on the footer of this page.
DO YOU EVER UPDATE THE COURSE?
Absolutely. I will update everything as needed and will pay close attention to the information and its relevancy. You'll get FREE LIFETIME ACCESS to all future content!
I'M DEBATING BETWEEN A GRADUATE DEGREE IN HCI OR TAKING A COURSE LIKE THIS. WHICH IS RIGHT FOR ME?
This course doesn't replace a university degree, but it offers something many academic programs lack: practical, industry-focused training. I cover topics and skills that I use daily in my work - things that even many master's programs don't teach.
In fact I shared things in my Master's program with my professor and he said "wow I never seen that, I'm going to steal that". Think of this as a concentrated, real-world complement to academic learning.
Also...fun fact...a few university courses LITERALLY link to MY YouTube videos. So why not learn straight from the source? ;)
CAN MY COMPANY PAY FOR THIS?
Absolutely! I offer corporate pricing and packages for teams looking to level up their UX research skills. Send me an email at [email protected] if you're looking to buy multiple licenses for your team and please stay tuned for corporate pricing.
*Please note: Company pricing is not eligible for regular discounts and promotional offers (e.g. holiday sales, launch discounts).
WILL YOU TEACH US HOW TO USE UXR TOOLS?
Ya boi don't have Oprah money to afford things like UserTesting.com, but I will show you demos/screenshots of those bespoke tools and my experience using them.
I will MAINLY be using Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, and Slides), Miro, Google Gemini AI / ChatGPT, and basic free tools so that instruction is more accessible. I don't want anyone getting left out of learning because of access to tools.
Besides, tools are tools. They aren't the fundamentals. Once you learn one tool, you've kind learned them all (except Qualtrics, that's its own beast).
**BONUS: Coming soon**: A partnership with an industry platform who agreed to give discounted access to students.
WILL THERE BE PAYMENT OPTIONS?
Yes! The platform has financing options that allow you to break the investment into affordable monthly installments.
Simply go to the checkout page and select between Affirm or Klarna. Then you’ll be directed through their process.
Here’s a comparison between Affirm vs Klarna to learn which payment plan provider is best for you.
If your country does not offer these financing options, fret not! There is also a flexible option to pay in installments! Click Here for Installments
WILL I GET ANY PERSONALIZED SUPPORT OR MENTORSHIP?
Absolutely! Although this is a self-paced course, you will ALSO get access to our private Slack community with other students in the program.
Inside, you can ask questions on literally ANYTHING in the course, collaborate with other students, share lessons, get feedback, and much more. Yes, I will be active in the group. I told this to a friend and his response was literally “that’s TOO valuable” haha... but I wanted to overdeliver and give you everything you need to succeed :)
